You may have noticed that a lot of creators have interesting homepages, product pages and banners. These are all important tools to develop your brand. Your home page is the face of your brand, it's important to have this reflect you and your style.

I update and change my homepage frequently, if I'm doing a series of outfits in a theme I may change my page to suit it. Stickers are a fun way to add something extra to the page, you can make or buy them. Personally I only have a few as I don't want to distract visitors too much from my products and what I have to say. A nice looking homepage draws visitors to spend time there looking at what you have to offer. Homepages are also an excellent way to show support to your fellow creators by showing their banners.

Banners are also an important tool. Most creators link these to their shops. Its a simple one click for visitors to get there. These can either be a still image or a GIF. Keep in mind when using a GIF that there IMVU rules about these and that some people are effected by flashing images.

I used a product page for almost every item I create. Especially if it's part of a planned outfit or bundle. Product pages are important for shoppers who shop through the website, it is also a place where you can put extra information needed about the item, such as triggers, suggestions etc. My product pages showcase the item its suggested outfit as well as my banner and links to my Instagram account.

These are all great things to have but to them completely on your own you will need to know how to do some coding. However, if you're like me and don't know how, there is an excellent place you can go to for help.

If you aren't aware of GAF 210 Codes then it's time to pay the site a little visit. There you will find the resources you need to create homepages, product pages, banners and a lot more. The site generates the code you use and provides you with clear instructions on how to use them and where to place them. Under Customize you find the information needed to create layouts for your homepage.

Under Creator Tools the first thing you'll see is Banner Code Generator This provides you with a simple and quick way of getting the code for the banner. You will need to have designed and saved the image you wish to use. You then need to upload this to either your IMVU photo album or an image hosting site. If using an image hosting site keep in mind that some are not compatible with IMVU. I use IMVU because the images load fast and I can keep my albums easily organised.

Also under Creator Tools you'll find the information need to create product pages. Under Gadgets you'll find an Online HTML Editor. The editor is the perfect way to test your code before placing it into your home page or product pages, simply copy and paste the code and click preview. I have my product page code saved in notepad on my computer so all I have to do is change the image location in the code. I also taught myself some very basic coding so I can understand, if only a small amount, what is going on.

Another way to gain exposure is to look at some advertising. Adplan is a place where you can purchase advertising for credits. There are various plans available, as well as, becoming a member opens up a whole new set of resources for you to utilize, such as access to new derivables, tutorials as well as a list where your product will be advertised. These websites listed contain lots of information for you to use on your creating journey. I have been advertising for around a year and will continue to do so. It's great exposure and there tools supplied are invaluable.

Take some time to visit these sites and take advantage of huge amounts of knowledge and support available to you. Save them to your favorites and you'll be surprised just how much you utilize the site.
