Plaid

Plaid is super easy and quick to make. This process allows you to customize the colors any way you want.

First open a new file 256x256 and fill the layer with a color, for this one I'm using #121212 which is a couple shades lighter than black.

Create a new layer and using the rectangle block brush with a size of around 100, start placing the colors you wish to use. I'm using three shades of red and white. The larger the stripes the more of that color there will be. I didn't want a lot of white so there is only a small amount on the canvas. Merge the two layers together once you're done.

Next click Colors>Info>Smooth Palette.

This will open up in a new canvas so go ahead and set the canvas size, I set mine to 256x256. Each time you do this process you will end up with a different set of lines.

Now you should have some thin stripes on the screen.

Duplicate the layer the click Layers>Transform>Rotate 90° clockwise. Adjust the layer opacity. Mine is set to 40. Merge the layer down and you have made the start of your plaid pattern.

To tile the image, click Filters>Map>Tile. I changed the settings to 512x512 as I can always adjust the layer size later on.

Here are two more examples with different color palettes.

P.S. I have included pictures in good faith to help you on your creating journey. Please do not steal my textures, creating your own is much more satisfying. Stealing my texture will result in a DMCA complaint lodged against you and I would hate for it to come to that.
